Birthdays and stuff...

What a busy weekend!
On Friday night Jeannie, Mark, Caro and Andy come up for a few drinks. Much catching up was done before playing on the eye-toy (boys vs girls...again!) I am so glad people couldn't see in the house - it looked as though we were each having some kind of fit or seizure in turn! Anyway...the girls won (again!) and we rolled into bed at about 3am!
Saturday was spent doing not a lot! So by 'busy weekend' I actually meant busy Friday and Sunday...but it just doesn't have the same ring to it!
Sunday we went to Mum and Dad's for lunch as it was Mum's birthday. Actually, Sarah and I thought of it the weekend before, saying a family get together would be nice and seeing as though Dad isn't driving we'd have it there! Luckily Mum agreed and cooked a lovely roast! Paul, Sarah and I managed to do Joshua's handprint in paint and Paul had his done too, just to show how little Joshua's hands are!

After this, Carl and I left to go to St Alban's to celebrate Conny's 30th birthday. We arrived at about 4pm and were introduced to various reletives and the like (whose names now escape me!) Jeannie and Mark turned up a little later too. Conny and David had prepared some lovely food (especially the yum-tastic chilli!) which was great! SO all in all, a very celebratory weekend!

If you like 24 - don't read this!

AAARRRGGGHHH!!! I can't believe it. I saw the first trailer for '24' on Sky One last night (well actually I saw the trailer 3 times in the space of 90 minutes!) I can not believe that I will have to endure another 6 months of trailers for the damn show, let alone have the show spoil my viewing pleasure. It goes on forever and I can't stick it. The new trailer said something like 'sacked, widowed, killed...and still comes back for more.' My version would be:
'sacked - who cares?, widowed - and..., killed - hurrah! Please go away and never darken our screens again!'
The only way to make the show barable would be to show it all at once so that I could make sure I was either - out, asleep or very drunk. I only hope that they show it on a Thursday night when I am regularly out!
Here endeth the rant.

Fun times ahead

Well, I have lots to look forward to over the coming few months!

1. Jeannie has organised a girlie weekend away in Barcelona for her 30th birthday. Looking forward to this very much!
2. My 30th - just booked a weekend away in Centre Parcs! There will only be 14 of us! Much fun will be had! Shame that we didn't get one with a hot tub - but it was double the price!!
3. Carl and I have booked a weekend in Paris to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary! We've also booked a cruise along the Seine and dinner up the Eiffel Tower (how romantic!) Let's just hope the hotel is better than the (Lack-of-) Quality Inn we stayed in during our Honeymoon in NY!!

So, lots to do, but zero cash! Never mind! That's what credit cards are for!!

A new toy and a visit from baby Joshua

I have finally purchased a new PC after my old one was doing my head in (and Carl's also...he was fed up of me moaning about it!) So on Saturday we did the deed...we treked to Bedford and 10 minutes later walked out with a new computer! Hurrah! The secret was looking online first so we knew exactly what to get! I am now going through lots of stuff from my old hard drive so I can decide what to keep. I am very impressed with it though...much faster...can run more than one application at a time...and doesn't crash every few minutes just when you are about to save something. That's got to be a bonus!

Paul came over in the afternoon with baby Joshua. We hadn't seen him since before Christmas and he has grown quite a bit! He now has his eyes open and is focussing on things. He is a real cutie...apart from the voming every few minutes!!

My 'little' bro with Joshua.

Happy New Year

Well, it is now 2006. 2005 went rather too fast for my liking...it only seems a short while ago that I got married! Not 9 months ago!
Thanks to Ross and Lou for the New Years Eve do at their house. It was great fun...and I remember midnight too...2 years in a row now! Ha ha. It was fancy dress I was amazed at how good all the guys looked in their wigs - scary!

The guys
and the girls

We had a boys vs girls crystal maze/krypton factor-esque type competition which was fun (but not really anything like the 2 programmes mentioned!) Challenges included Jenga, Pass the Pigs, Operation, Throwing the ball into the shot glasses, the cream cracker challenge (a race to eat 2 cream crackers without a drink...) and others. My favourite game was the vodka jelly races...although the guys were far superior to us girlies. However in round 2 I did draw against DL which was pretty good I reckon! My low point was only having 2 marshmallows in my mouth and still being able to say fluffy bunnies! I must have a very small mouth huh! Poor Carl didn't get much of a challenge there!

All in all, a great way to end 2005 and start 2006. Thanks again to the Po’s!
